Layla Clark, a student in LCMR’s Biomedical program led by teacher David Pacevich, recently reached an exciting milestone, graduating from her internship as a Patient Care Technician at Cooper Hospital through the program’s work-based learning initiative. She will be the first student at LCMR to achieve this distinction. This industry-valued credential opens the door to in-demand healthcare opportunities, with strong starting wages and immediate career potential. Layla plans to begin her journey at Cooper right away—an incredible next step.
Layla has demonstrated exceptional dedication, balancing her academic responsibilities with the intense demands of her internship, including 12-hour clinical shifts twice a week during the program’s final stretch. Pictured here with her guidance counselor, Angela Mannello, who has supported and guided her throughout this process, Layla’s achievement reflects not only hard work, but a remarkable commitment to her future in healthcare. This accomplishment also serves as an example of LCMR students actively filling local industry needs through meaningful work-based learning experiences.
