LCMR Biomedical Sciences Students - Two Year Long Project

Posted: October 9th 2024

October 9th, LCMR Biomedical Sciences students Yana Brandenburg, Bella Lund, and Ava Butterline finalized a 2 year long project by presenting the findings to Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional. Every 3 years a County Health Needs Assessment is used to determine how services will be funded within Cape May County. This process used to be cumbersome, because it was conducted using paper surveys from over 10 different agencies. 2nd Year Stockton student and former LCMR Biomedical Intern Cody Lyszczinski digitized the documents into a single 80 question survey complete with a QR code for easy access.Current Biomedical Innovations students Yana, Bella, and Ava took over and analyzed the data from 119 of our Counties citizens to find out what kind of Health Needs might need extra attention. Joanne Carrocino, CEO of Cooper, and Tom Piratzky, Executive Director welcomed the students in one of Cooper's Conference Rooms, and will now use the Presentation to update Cape May County Health Needs.
