Los dichos

On the first day of each week the class will learn a new dicho, a saying or proverb.  The class will repeat the dicho each day in class and will have a quiz on it on the last day of the week.  For the quiz students are required to write the dicho correctly in Spanish, and both the literal and figurative meanings in English.  The quiz is worth five points.

Students may earn extra credit each week by drawing their interpretation of the dicho and explaining it in Spanish to the class. The drawing must be done in color and on unlined paper. Instead of a drawing, students may use computer images or pictures from a magazine. The drawing is worth two points on a test or quiz and must be presented the day after the class learns the dicho. Students must be present the day the drawing is due in order to receive the extra credit.

There will be a test at the end of each quarter for the dichos learned during the quarter.
