At Lower Cape May Regional High School, education doesn’t stop at the classroom door—it extends across the wetlands. Thanks to grant funding dedicated to climate resilience and environmental education, the district has built the LCMR Wetlands Research Bridge, a one-of-a-kind project that doubles as both a pedestrian bridge and a climate change research station. This innovative structure is more than just steel and wood; it is a living classroom where students collect data, study ecosystems, and see firsthand how climate change affects their community. The bridge stands as a bold statement: our students don’t just read about the future—they are helping to shape it.
