We had 11 Peer Leaders/Student Leaders representing LCMR at the NJ Peer Leadership Conference. The students had the opportunity to listen to a variety of speakers, participate in workshops and interact with other student leaders from across the state of New Jersey while building on their leadership skills to bring back to the halls of LCMR. In addition to these 11 students, Senior Lily Ramirez was selected as one of ten Youth Staff members for the conference. Throughout the weekend Lily worked with her fellow Youth Staff members to facilitate all aspects of the conference including providing directions between activities, introducing speakers, running games during free time and interacting with conference attendees during meals and workshops. The weekend was beneficial for the students and I think each one brought something new back with them, whether facts, activities or ideas to better serve the LCMR community.
